Unless you’re specifically asking your guests to go unplugged on your big day, you can be certain that they’ll be using their smartphones to upload photos throughout the reception. Between Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Flickr, it can be tough to keep track of all the photos they have put online, particularly if you have a big guest list. One way to make it easier is to requeast that guests use a special wedding hashtag.

A hashtag makes searching easier, and can be used on a variety of social media sites. Your guests simply add the hashtag to their photos and you can find them after the big day is over.

You can include your hashtag in your invitations, and on signs around the reception venue. When you choose the hashtag, make sure it’s somthing that won’t be used by a load of other couples. For instace, #joneswedding won’t all be your photos, but #jvjones71214 is less likely to be shared.

When you have your hashtag set, it can be a great way for your guests to share the fun after the wedding, too. To find out more wedding planning tips, come to our next New England wedding show!
